The game offers a great variety of solitaires. Some require just a little bit of luck. Others require skill and a good strategy. Yet, others require a combination of both. The solitaires are not presented in any particular order. You will find simple and more complicated solitaires throughout the game. All of them are entertaining and will be the delight of children and grownups alike.

Of course, you can play any solitaire in any order you want. You can even let the program choose a different one for you every time you play!

If you are not familiar with the Spanish cards, there are some solitaires, at the beginning of the game, to help you get acquainted with them. These solitaires allow you to quickly learn the different suits and value of the cards and their underlying order (for example, to go from a Seven to a Page, etc.). This does not mean, at all, that once you are familiar with the Spanish cards you should not play to these solitaires. Rather on the contrary, some of the solitaires on this group (like the "No Ace Solitaire") are highly entertaining and will provide hours of fun to players of all ages, regardless of their knowledge of the Spanish cards.

Features

  • 65 completely different solitaires
  • Plenty of options to increase the variety of the solitaires
  • You can control the level of difficulty of some solitaires by using some options
  • Screen texts and documentation (solitaire instructions, etc.) available in both English and Spanish
  • The program can choose a different solitaire each time (randomly)

Screen shots

Here are screen shots for some of the solitaires. Click an image below to see a full-size screen shot. To reduce the load time all images are compressed. Image quality in the actual game is better.

No Ace solitaire screen shot No Ace solitaire: Highly entertaining, funnily addictive solitaire. Discard the Aces and use the empty spaces to move the cards around until you sort them on four rows, in ascending order by suit. Skill and strategy are more important than luck.

Silly solitaire screen shot Silly solitaire: Draw cards from four decks of cards to put them into four stacks, one by suit. You can only draw from a deck if you placed at least one card from the prior one so you will need a combination of luck and strategy to be able to win.

Solitaire of the pairs screen shot Solitaire of the pairs: Remove cards from eight columns in pairs of the same value. Pay attention to the cards of the same value on each column to avoid deadly locks.

Solitaire of the Pyramid screen shot Solitaire of the Pyramid: Very challenging solitaire. Discard the cards from the table with the ones being drawn from the deck. You will need a solid strategy and good luck to win this one.

Solitaire of the series screen shot Solitaire of the series: Group cards by suit and keep moving and reordering them until you manage to put all the cards of each suit together in ascending order. You need a long term strategy to be able to win.

Solitaire of the figures screen shot Solitaire of the figures: Draw cards from the deck and place them on the table. The figures can only be placed on specific places. If you draw a figure and its place is being used you lose. The suspense is guaranteed until the very end.

Solitaire of the Leftovers screen shot Solitaire of the Leftovers: Draw cards from the deck, three at a time, to put them into four stacks in ascending order by suit. Keep the last cards drawn on each pass of the deck to open up new possibilities.

About the Spanish cards

The Spanish playing cards are called naipes. The Spanish card deck is called Baraja Española and has 48 cards organized into 4 suits. The four suits are called Oros, (Gold, represented by a golden coin), Copas (Cups, represented by a reddish goblet), Espadas (Swords, represented by a bluish sword) and Bastos (Clubs, represented by clubs of several colors). When a game or solitaire requires the suits to be ordered, they are normally ordered in this sequence: Oros, Copas, Espadas and Bastos.

Each suit has 12 cards. The first 9 cards have a numeric value (from 1 to 9), although the first card (with value 1) is normally referred to as As (Ace). The last 3 cards of each suit are represented by a figure (and so are called figures) and are called Sota (Page), Caballo (the direct translation to English would be Horse, but Knight probably represents better the actual meaning. So, we will use the word Knight to refer to this card in English) and Rey (King).

The vast majority of the Spanish card games and solitaires are played without the 8 and 9 cards (by removing them from the card deck before starting the game). This is called a 40 card deck. In a 40 card deck, each suit has 10 cards. In ascending order, the cards in each suit are: As, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Sota, Caballo and Rey. In descending order the cards are: Rey, Caballo, Sota, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and As.
