About Solete Software

Solete Software was founded on February 2002 and is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.

Our goal is to deliver top quality educational software for students of all ages and computer games for the whole family.

I am from Spain and came to the US because of my work. Since I came, I have always noticed an ever growing interest in the Spanish culture. I am trying to do my part and contribute what I can to its diffusion. Our programs will have a Spanish flavor, whenever appropriate.

Our educational programs are, primarily, learning and teaching tools that focus on the learning rather than the playing. They are great tools for parents that want to get involved in the learning experience of their kids. However, we strongly believe that learning is and should be fun. All our educational software include funny, creative, easy to learn and use, mind challenging games and activities to reinforce the learning while having lots of fun.

Our family games are non-violent and can be played by people of all ages. Many of them also have some educational value and will help develop some useful skills. We believe that the content of the game is more important than the technology that is used to deliver it so you will not need the latest hardware and software to be able to fully enjoy our games.

A little bit of history

I am an electronic engineer and have worked with information technologies for over 20 years.

I started developing some educational programs for my kids, mainly as a hobby, to help them with their spelling and math assignments.

I really turned the corner when I tried to help my kids learn Spanish. Although originally from Spain, we live in the US and I wanted them to be able to master (not only speak!) Spanish as if we were still living in Spain. I have always enjoyed teaching and this gave me the opportunity to combine three of my many passions: teaching, computers and knowledge of the language.

I began to entertain the idea that other people could also benefit from these tools. One idea led to another and this is how Solete Software came into existence.

The name of Solete Software comes from my hometown. I was born in Málaga, a city in the south of Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. This city is known as the "Coast of the Sun" (in Spanish, "Costa del Sol"), because of its nice weather. "Solete" is an affectionate way of saying "sun" in Spanish. In Spanish, being a "solete" also means being particularly nice and helpful, a name that truly represents the spirit of Solete Software. Finally, the colors in the logo represent the sun, the sky and the sea.
